I've always fancied myself some sort of photographer. My parents took pictures of everything when they were getting married - from camping trips with my mom's parents to watching someone tow a Jeep from a stream to the first family cat lounging on the bed with the newborn son. And, as was cool at the time, they put a lot of it on slides, so on a dull afternoon we could tack a sheet up to the living room ceiling and watch a three-hour slide show. It was inevitable that I'd pick up the bug.

The difference is, instead of having to wait for a rainy day to dust off the projector, I can welcome everyone to see what kind of adventures I've been on. This is my scrapbooking, and while the medium has changed from the days of my dad's trusty Canon AE1, the motivation is still the same.

Photos prior to the summer of 2005 were taken with my Olympus D-460. After thousands of photos over four years, I retired the Olympus in favor of a Canon PowerShot S2 IS. For Spring 2008, I upgraded again to a Canon Digital Rebel XTi, and in April 2009 I acquired a Canon PowerShot SD790 IS for those places where a camera bag the size of a purse is awkward. All new galleries are tagged with the camera used for the photo, for the benefit of the photography nerds among us.
